My wife had to work a full day again (as she did yesterday) at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so she was up this morning no later than 9:45 a.m. to begin preparing for her day. She has a fair drive to get to the restaurant for its 11 a.m. opening and her start time.
She was sensible yesterday about getting home last evening at a proper time instead of becoming involved with any sort of partying that easily keeps her away until well into the a.m.
The last T.V. show that I tuned in for my brother and I last evening via our Android TV Box was the BBC dark comedy series Back to Life. Unfortunately, the last episode that we had watched a week or two ago was apparently actually the series last, but we did not realize it at the time.
However, I have just learned that there will be a new season, and the series was not terminated as had been discussed by my brother and I.
We quite like the series; and lead actress Daisy Haggard ─ who looked weirdly homely initially ─ has come to actually look quite attractive to me. I was a little surprised to read that she is a great-great-great-grandniece of authour H. Rider Haggard ─ I enjoyed reading some of his adventure fiction back in the late 1960s / early 1970s when I was heavily into adventure fantasy (or Sword & Sorcery) fiction.
Anyway, perhaps I will now see if I can find sources for the comedy series that were the venue for one of Daisy's earliest acting appearances. She reportedly appeared in the second episode of the second season, but I would want to try and have my brother and I watch the entire series. I am referring to the T.V. series My Family, by the way.
As for the T.V. viewing that my brother and I engaged in over the latter morning today, it was exclusively material related to the Ottawa Freedom Convoy 2022.
Yesterday I mistakenly misnamed the fundraiser outfit GiveSendGo as GoSendGo ─ GiveSendGo is the alternative means to donate to the truckers and their cause now that GoFundMe showed how unreliable they are, refusing to release public donations to the intended trucker recipients.
It seems that GiveSendGo does indeed intend to ignore Canadian government legal efforts to freeze the donations to the truckers and their cause ─ note this article published today at the CBN News website: GiveSendGo Fires Back After Canadian Judge Freezes Access to Freedom Convoy Fundraiser.
However, that may not much matter. It seems possible that a group of four (Benjamin Dichter, Tamara Lich, Chris Barber, Dagny Pawlak) who are claiming to be the official leaders of the Freedom Convoy 2022 are in fact just grifters intent on capitalizing in every way on the hard work and sacrifices of the truckers.
This wretched wrinkle came to the attention of my brother and I this morning when we happened across the latest video by Amazing Polly: Warning to Truckers and Convoy Supporters.
She is not fully certain that this is what is happening, but she does seem to have cause for believing that it may be true. What especially bothered me was that she said that she had found out that GiveSendGo does not retain the money donated to them like GoFundMe does ─ supposedly, GiveSendGo immediately forwards the money to the intended target ... which in this case, are the four people claiming to be the organizers and spokesmen of the Freedom Convoy 2022.
Can this be so? Do those four people now have full possession of the donations given to GiveSendGo for the truckers and their cause?
If it is true, then they had better start explaining what is being done with ALL of that money.
This potential horrible turn of events particularly aggrieves me because I found myself very much liking Métis woman Tamara Lich. That she might be party to self-aggrandizement and even larceny deeply disturbs me.
And with that expressed, I must bring this post to a close because I hope to watch a Christmas movie before my brother shows up after going out this afternoon to do some drinking, and it is already after 6:30 p.m.
