'Twas mainly sunny today hereabouts, and barely above freezing overnight. However, this morning I heard on T.V. that a cold front is on the way, so we're probably in for some freezing weather that may not see daytime temperatures climb even as high as the freezing level.
I could have gone out and done some non-grocery shopping today, but early this morning i calculated my chequing account's situation factoring in the imminent monthly mortgage debit that will likely be drawn from the account tomorrow, as well as a minimum credit card payment due the same day.
I wanted to exceed that minimum credit card payment by adding on the cost of the smartphone gimbal that I ordered online for my wife using that card, but doing so will put me perilously low in the chequing account's balance. I would not likely have enough remaining to do any shopping whatsoever until my monthly pension gets deposited into the account at some point later this month.
Consequently, I went ahead and made the minimum payment of $294.40 today, and once the mortgage gets automatically debited from the account, I will reevaluate the account's health. The full cost of the gimbal was $116.86.
I suppose that my pension might arrive later this week rather than on Monday, the final day of the month; but I have no assurance of that. Therefore I think it prudent not to make any further payment toward that credit card until my pension does arrive, just in case it does not show up before Monday. Otherwise, I will be unable to do any kind of shopping with my debit card.
Today was to be the hugely important Parliamentary vote on whether the Trudeau government should be able to enact the Emergencies Act (formerly the War Measures Act).
I knew that the Conservative Party would vote against enabling the Act, so I E-mailed the following message to the leader of the New Democratic Party (N.D.P.):
Mr. Jagmeet Singh;
I live in B.C.'s Surrey Centre electoral district, which unfortunately has a Liberal as its member of Parliament.
I am 72 years old, and for 50 years ─ right up until the last federal election ─ I have exclusively voted for the NDP both federally and provincially. This past election, I voted for the People's Party of Canada (PPC) ─ the only time in my entire voting life that I did not vote NDP.
I voted PPC because the NDP has become an arm of the Liberal Party ─ there is no other way to see it.
The NDP used to truly be a political party for the people, but that is clearly no longer the situation. This absolutely must change.
Please do not vote in favour and support of Trudeau's Emergency Declaration. If the NDP votes to support that ridiculous grab by Trudeau for even more power, then I will never again return to the NDP fold. The party will have proven itself irredeemably corrupted and in strict concert with the Liberal Party.
I also sent this to the mentioned Member of Parliament (M.P.) representing my electoral district:
Mr. Randeep Sarai;
I am 72 years old and live in the Surrey Centre electoral district, so I am voicing my hope to you that you recognize that there is no reason whatsoever to be supporting Justin Trudeau's bid to deny us even more of our Charter Rights and Freedoms by giving assent to this declaration of an emergency that does not exist.
What I saw of the livestreamed 'policing' action in Ottawa this past Friday and Saturday sickened me.
It is impossible for me to say more without descending into vocabulary that I do not want to engage, so I will withhold. I will simply say: Please do not support this ridiculous confirmation of the need to launch the Emergencies Act.
As well, I will add that Liberal Party members need a new leader before it is too late to save the Party.
I knew that the latter message was probably an utter waste of my energy. Minor Liberal Randeep Sarai would of course do as he is told by his overlord and master, Mr. Trudeau.
Well, it was all futile. See this CTV News article published today: House of Commons passes Emergencies Act motion.
And I will never again vote for the NDP as long as I may live.
On a related note ─ that of the Ottawa Freedom Convoy 2022 'leadership' ─ I read today that one of the supposed organizers, Tamara Lich, may actually be someone else.
According to an article at CeliaFarber.substack.com, Tamara Lich's real name is Arlene Catherine Martineu: Clarity: A Post-Mortem On The Planted Actors In The Freedom Convoy, Part 1.
If so, then she may not even be MΓ©tis.
I want to watch any non-mainstream videos that I can find relating to the events of today in Ottawa. Since it is already nearly 6:30 p.m., I am signing off right here.
