Gosh, it was a little after 1 a.m. before I was to bed last night. My wife was still up in the next room watching videos on her smartphone, even though she was to have to work another full day today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time.
She seems to be quite involved in the T.V. series Ozark.
I had hoped to start watching the 2002 / 2003 BBC T.V. series Manchild that evening, but I was unable to locate any functioning source links. I did finally locate a source on my computer today, but the darned thing was dubbed in Russian or some related language.
I hate having to bypass a series like this.
The nights hereabouts have been well above freezing of late, and we even have what appears to be a small clump of mini-irises blooming near to the front door ─ they're only three or so inches tall. I want to photograph them, but anytime I remember, the day is too cloudy ─ I do not get good results under cloudy conditions with my Canon PowerShot SD880 IS digital camera, nor my iPhone 5; and I know that the blooms are relatively transient and will begin wilting soon, so I am in something of a bind.
Anyway, my morning officially commenced just after 8 a.m. when I finally resigned myself to rising. An hour or so later, I joined my younger brother downstairs to watch videos on T.V. via our Android TV Box ─ videos relating to the Ottawa Freedom 2022 convoy.
I eventually got around to tuning in a YouTube livestream by ZOT in which the young fellow behind the camera came upon the announcement by truck driver Erik Mueller that after 20 days he was having to give up the fight and leave.
A number of livestreamers got involved in this development, and Erik was clearly emotional.
Somehow Erik was feeling obliged to obey his erstwhile employer who claimed to have been threatened by the government with a freezing of the company's banking assets, as well as a suspension of the insurance coverage of the company's fleet of truck.
Apparently this would effectively involve something like 55 people and their families.
Although Erik had supposedly resigned from the company in order to be part of the convoy, and he owned his own truck, his truck was still connected to a company trailer there in Ottawa where he had been parked.
Reportedly it would not have mattered if he surrendered the trailer ─ the company was supposedly told that Erik himself had to go, or the wicked threats the government had made against the company would be enacted, effectively bringing it to ruin.
This was the gist of what I understood to be going on. Erik felt that he had no choice ─ he did not wish to see his former co-workers brought to harm by him refusing to leave Ottawa.
Actually, the whole lengthy scenario as being recorded by ZOT was very emotionally affecting. These livestreamers are doing a damned good job!
I also learned that Charlotte ─ whom I talked about in my post two days ago; she is a livestreamer who takes over from the young fellow who generally does the livestreams, but who sometimes needs to catch some sleep ─ is actually the lad's sister.
Good to know!
I caught someone else's short video of the street arrest Chris Barber, reportedly one of the convoy's organizers. He was walking along a sidewalk with a few other fellas when the cops appeared.
I am very distracted right now because I have ZOT tuned in, and it seems that one of two trucks ─ one yellow, one red ─ who figured rather largely in the earlier action relating to Erik Mueller's departure, has also been forced to pull up stakes and leave. It was the yellow truck. And right now at 9:20 p.m. in Ottawa where it is snowing heavily, the red truck is on the move.
I do not know if it is leaving as well, or just seeking another location, for apparently there had been some attempt by the police to have the truck towed.
I must clarify that I am only presuming that the yellow and the red trucks are the same two that were associated in the Erik Mueller segment this afternoon.
Hey, I can't resist this any longer ─ I am going to quite blogging for the day and go and watch ZOT on T.V. downstairs.
ZOT said that there are now three trucks that left today ─ yes, lots happening at present!
