πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ Forsaken

Whether self forsaken alone, or forsaken both of self and God, I do not know.

I got out early this chilly morning and hiked the mile or so over to the Coast Capital Savings headquarters (Google Map) where I finally deposited the monthly expenses reconciliation cheque that my younger brother had given me over a week ago ─ it was only for $144.46, so the $110.80 I was thereafter billed when I shopped at the neighbouring new outlet of Save-On-Foods (Google Map) left little of that deposit.

While shopping, I noticed cute little three-plant cartons of arid tropical plants being marketed as inexpensive (less than $4) Valentine's Day gifts, so I bought one for my wife who should be home sometime tomorrow.

I have been able to identify the three plants in the box as being a Crassula (Jade), Hawarthia (Zebra), and an Aloe. However, an attached maintenance insert also lists Sanseveria and Echeveria, so I am supposing that those plants might have been included as being among the three that were in other cartons.

The little cartons are the imaginative product of Horty Girl, "a horticultural design company" based in nearby Langley.

I took a couple of photos of the carton or box of plants, but I do not have the time to upload them to reproduce here ─ tomorrow, if I remember.

Yes, it is a paltry Valentine's Day gift ─ I don't even have a card. But I am a 72-year-old pensioner deep in debt, so I cannot lose myself by participating in that special day. My wife actually has her birthday coming up in less than 10 days, so I am considering buying her a reasonably-priced gimbal / selfie stick ─ she often posts live videos with her iPhone 11 to her Facebook account; consequently, if she can figure out how to use one of these devices, I would expect that she would find great favour with one.

However, researching them has consumed a lot of time, and I need to place an order online ASAP if I hope to have one arrive in time for her birthday. I should have been doing that this afternoon, alas.

Anyway, I returned to bed for a while soon after getting back home, and then I rose and watched some videos with my brother that relate to the Ottawa Freedom Convoy 2022.

I should have taken a nap thereafter, for I needed it. But instead, I fell foul and blew away most of my afternoon. I did finally lie down as the afternoon faded, for perhaps an hour; then I got to work on this brief post.

It is now just past 7:30 p.m. on this disappointingly unproductive ─ yet sunny ─ day that has seen me benefit from absolutely no exercise as a result of how my wretched afternoon was misspent.

I care to say nothing further today.
