Despite my expressed intention at the conclusion of yesterday's post, I never went for that short walk. Time managed to run away on me, as too often is usual.
And as is just as usual, my younger brother and I sat up watching T.V. (via our Android TV Box) last night until just into the midnight hour. My wife had come home from work earlier in the evening, but not before her eldest son left for work ─ he has a graveyard shift this week.
My wife also had a full workday today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so she left here after 10:30 a.m. to make her 11 a.m. start.
Overnight, when I found myself awake in the early a.m. ─ perhaps around 5:30 a.m. ─ I used the toilet, but I felt that it was too late for a short walk. My concern was that I would be meeting the odd person bound for or else waiting for a bus as they began their individual workdays.
I do not cotton to being out among the public ─ I prefer total solitude and privacy when i am out on a walk.
Consequently, I attempted further sleep, but I was to find that my conscience was working against me. I finally gave it up a bit past 6 a.m. and spent time here at my computer until a little after 7 a.m. before returning to bed.
This time, I did gain further sleep. I believe that it was in the neighbourhood of 9:30 a.m. before I next checked the time, and then hurriedly rose because I am usually already downstairs watching T.V. with my brother who cannot operate our Android TV Box ─ he would be left with basic cable to amuse himself.
One of the shows that I tuned in was Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson's latest video in Ottawa at the Freedom Convoy 2022: Interview with Ottawa Convoy Trucker Marian Tudor. The video was only 11 minutes in duration, but it was long enough to have me liking Romanian immigrant-to-Canada Marian Tudor.
While my brother and I were watching a live video by Rebel News, my cellphone rang ─ it was my older half-sister Phyllis. She's maybe 79 years old, whereas I am 72.
I lost out on most of the video because of her extended call, but that's okay.
Sometimes I tune in to see what YouTube's VIDSTORM has going ─ that channel seems to collate a number of different live videos throughout each day.
I came across a live feed late this afternoon by a channel called vivafrei at Rumble. The host there reported that he has learned or at least 'heard' that the GoFundMe outfit collecting donations towards the Freedom Convoy 2022 has announced that it is now NOT going to release the money to the truckers. Instead, it is supposedly going to turn over the $10 million (that has been thus far donated by the public) to a charity of GoFundMe's choosing ─ can you believe that?!
Is that not outright theft? People did not donate money for any other reason than to have it go to the truckers ─ it is not GoFundMe's money to do with as they choose.
Everyone at that outfit needs to be given lengthy jail terms for this if it is indeed true, and the organization has to also be crushed and put out of business!
I have actually held back on making any kind of donation for that very concern ─ I have heard bad things about GoFundMe before, so I do not trust them.
I pray that this is a false report ─ the truckers deserve all of that money and more.
Anyway, speaking of phone calls, I feel obligated to be placing one to a certain Sandra W. of Vancouver who left a message for me last evening around 9:20 p.m. She is my sole means of having information relating to my old friend William Alan G., who has been in a full-term care facility over in Victoria.
How Bill is still alive defies my understanding, for he has been essentially bedridden for a few years now, and is presently 75 years old and facing his 76th birthday in April.
I have not spoken with Sandy since (I believe) at least last September, so I do definitely feel obligated to give her a return call.
With that explained, I herewith take my leave from blogging for the day.
