Since the evening was early enough yesterday, I downed both cans of the strong (8% alcohol) malt that I have in stock and which I had placed in the fridge icebox to chill, and I downed them during a single episode of The Avengers ─ it was series five's episode four ("The See-Through Man").
Whenever I see Diana Rigg as Emma Peel, I still feel a vaguely familiar stirring of my attraction for her back then ─ I was in love and obsessed with her for two years.
I enjoyed Warren Mitchell as the comedic Russian Ambassador Brodney ─ the character deserved more exposure in the series. Interestingly to me, he died two months' shy of his 90th birthday ─ my mother also died in the second month prior to what would have been her 90th birthday.
It may have been around 10:15 p.m. when I got to bed, planning to rise at 4 a.m. in order to have plenty of time to adjust to what was meant to be a good walk before stopping at the No Frills outlet four blocks from home as I made the return leg of the walk.
I had grocery-shopped yestermorn, even though all did not proceed as planned. Today ─ the provincial holiday BC Day ─ was my second chance.
Alas, things went even more awry this morning than they did yesterday ─ this time, I evidently forget to set my alarm. What was to clue me in was the sound of a rooster crowing.
Alerted, I checked the time ─ it was 5:15 a.m. My plans were a shambles.
Perhaps if I was young and filled with the reserves of young adulthood, I might have managed. But I needed my mug of coffee.
And of course, once I had consumed it, I was too overburdened for the exercising I wanted to get done. And due to oppressive morning humidity, I was not going to be tackling any at the elementary school playground ─ not in the daylight. Yesterday had been different ─ I had that whole extra 1¼ hours with which to normalize.
No Frills doesn't open until 8 a.m., so I had to devise some alternate walk to the one I might otherwise have undertaken.
All in all, I may have gotten in as much as four miles of walking, leaving home a little before 6:30 a.m. ─ actually, I forget just when I left. I noticed that it had rained at some point, and I could even feel a few errant droplets immediately after leaving home.
I ended up having to dawdle late into my walk in order to avoid arriving at the store too soon; but even so, I still had to expend a few minutes loitering in the vicinity until the doors were opened to the public.
I believe that my bill topped $63 ─ on top of yesterday's expenditure, I went through $163 in grocery shopping these past two days, and that is unheard of for me.
I got back here around 8:30 a.m., and my younger brother was already watching T.V., so I never got any chance to rest in bed.
After putting away my purchases and changing out of my public wear, I joined him for some T.V. And as usual, he did not invite me to put our Android TV Box to work until 9 a.m. ─ I do not know why he needs to watch the silly morning news programmes. Often, I wish that I lived alone.
I led us off with a 51-minute episode added back on December 24, 2021, to Rumble's America's Untold Stories: America's Street Games.
Before the industrial revolution, adults and children usually played all games together. These were more often than not, physical games that served a practical purpose. Most served as early training exercises for youngsters, while also helping to keep their parents in shape.
After the industrial revolution, things changed.
It was an entertaining and interesting episode.
We were to only have time for this next video ─ again on Rumble ─ for it was almost 1¾ hours (1:44:13): Plandemic 3: The Great Awakening - Official 4k Release.
I began getting drowsy after the first hour. But once it was done, and I had my day's first meal, I still had not sought a needed nap when my brother finished his bed rest and then left for the day to socialize.
The sky had quite thickly hazed over; and an earlier weather report said we are to have a fairly rainy Tuesday. Even after my nap was done and I rose soon after 2 p.m., the thick haze covering the sky suggested to me that I could honourably shirk any backyard sunning, so I got to work blogging.
Then about an hour later, after I broke to visit the bathroom, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that the sky had cleared in every direction. I hoped that it was late enough into the afternoon that sunning was not worthwhile ... but it was only 3:15 p.m.
Well, I was going to have to put in some token sunning ─ it would be unconscionable not to. And so I changed into shorts, and I probably logged at least 40 minutes.
And now I am finishing this post, although I will take another break ─ this time for some light exercise, for I can't abandon an entire day.
My wife showed up just before I had finished, and is now preparing a supper ─ I ought to be having something a little tastier for my later meal than I might otherwise.
I intend an early ─ very early ─ a.m. walk tonight, so I will be back to my usual 1:45 a.m. rise from bed that will hopefully see me on my way no more than a half hour later.
I will not be sitting up until 10 p.m. this evening. And although I did put another two cans of my strong malt into the fridge to get cold, I may not drink them both ─ we shall see. The afternoon is only now dying off.
More tomorrow, then, providing I am able.
