πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ A Memorable Passage

Around 8:10 - 8:15 p.m. last evening as I was probably working on a second can of the strong (8% alcohol) malt I try to keep in stock, it suddenly dawned upon me that it was my younger brother's 71st birthday and I had utterly forgotten about it since the previous day.

I had intended to leave a birthday card and his 1.75-litre bottle of Irish whiskey on the dining table for him to discover when he rose earlier that morning, but that thought somehow got buried and forgotten.

So I dug out both items and left them on the table for him to find once he was home from his daily socializing. I was not going to be present ─ in about an hour I would be leaving on the 5.625-mile round trip hike to do some grocery shopping at Real Canadian Superstore.

Meantime I was killing time as I awaited sunset. I had watched an episode of either The Goldbergs or Cybill (I think the latter), and some women's MMA on YouTube ─ the match that stands out was a 28-minute video titled Kayla Yontef vs Veronika Smolkova | Bout 7 | UFL 2.

Kayla Yontef and Veronika Smolkova fought in that match on May 13. I had seen Kayla fight before, and had rooted for her opponent, even though Kayla won. In this match, I was doing the same, for Slovakian Veronika was gorgeous.

Veronika was also 20 years old, while Kayla was 25.

Kayla may have looked a little better than she did when I previously saw her, for in that prior match the loose skin all over her body from her dramatic weight loss (it was claimed that she may once have weighed as much as 400 pounds at her height of five feet and five inches) was not at all a pleasant sight.

Her body is still not attractive. And what I cannot understand is how she could be an inch taller than Veronika and approximately the same body weight, yet have such obese-looking attributes ─ it cannot all be loose skin, surely!

I do applaud her courage and determination, however. Veronika came out of the fight looking great ─ even her hairdo was pretty much unaffected; Kayla's face was a beaten mess with her hair unkempt and matted, straggling all over her face.

Anyway, I got away on my walk before my brother made his appearance, and I was well feeling the two malts; immediately in the alleyway beside our home I coincided with a fairly attractive woman walking with a frail-looking older man. I think that I have seen her a number of times in the past couple of months in the company of a buzz-cut burly looking dude.

I was looking really good ─ sleeveless black denim jacket overtop a sleeveless hoodie ─ and deeply coloured by the Sun. As we passed by one another, I saw that she was looking directly into my eyes with a rather alluring smile on her face ... and she gave me a rather bold "Hi!" that was both extended and somewhat lilting in that she started it low, then inflected it with a high tone, and then dropped it low again.

It was as if her "Hi!" had three syllables.

I hadn't spoken to anyone in several hours, so when I returned a "Hello!", it came out both hoarsely and broken. Nevertheless, she sure had me feeling good ... and thinking. Would I have attempted to engage her if she had been alone? I was certainly inebriated enough ─ I had downed those two strong malts inside of an hour.

I cannot recall anything else warranting mention concerning my hike, and I believe that I was gone for just over 2½ hours.

My brother was watching T.V. when I got back, so I came upstairs to my bedroom and dressed down, and then joined him. He has developed an obvious cold, so I think that he has started to somewhat moderate his drinking. At least he seemed in decent shape.

I actually was disinclined to have a third malt ─ I had felt 'drunk' the entire walk, and by the time I was home I did not even feel like eating ─ I had only eaten late in the morning. Notwithstanding, I did have a chunk of extra old cheddar cheese for the protein, and sipped some juice from the fermented vegetables I have in the fridge ─ and I ate an apple.

It could have been near 2 a.m. before I finally got to bed ─ my brother had gone to his bedroom late into the midnight hour.

We rose to a heavily overcast morning today. When I joined my brother for some T.V. around 8:30 a.m., he remarked that it looked as if we could get rain. We did not, but even late into the afternoon there was still so much cloud around that I was never interested in wasting my time trying to sun.

As for morning T.V., I used our Android TV Box to tune in a couple fairly short latest videos on Rumble's Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson channel:

Nathaniel Pawlowski will drop in for a quick interview to tell us about his experience with Canadian Customs, after testifying at the European Parliament.

Shocking details of the lengths the political and judicial class will go, to silence their critics.

We also watched a 10-minute very old video added today on Rumble's Sunfellow On COVID-19 channel: A Young Robert "Bobby" Kennedy Jr. Talks About His Father, Uncle And His Future.

Bobby Kennedy talks about the tragedies of his father and uncle's deaths and calls them "an occupational hazard". He also discusses his future: will it be politics, or not?

Bobby had just written a book about Judge Frank M. Johnson Jr., an Alabama Judge who was instrumental in desegregating the South. Although he was a classmate and friend of George Wallace, they parted ways on the issues of integration. Despite the odds, Judge Johnson integrated almost every institution in Alabama with his rulings.

As well, we watched a nigh 25-minute video added to Rumble's SilentNoMoreNZ1 channel last December 18: New Zealand Documentary Memorial Day (Silent No More NZ).

New Zealand Documentary Release: Memorial Day

A powerful story of the “Memorial Day” event, and the delivery of a petition to New Zealand’s Parliament in Wellington.

The video description is very long, so please refer to the link for a proper sense of what the documentary is about.

We finished with a third of a video I previously recorded concerning ancient Greece, so I will not identify it until we have gotten through it all.

After my brother sought some bed rest, I had my day's first meal; and then even though I would not be sunning, I still required my post-meal nap. My brother was gone for the day by the time that I rose.

The two photos that I took yesterday afternoon of a wasp despatching a stunned or crippled common green bottle fly that I had managed to swat out on the backyard lawn while I was sunning, failed to reveal the fly itself ─ all I captured were two photos of the wasp's back. I should have attempted a more side view.

So I deleted them.

I also want to mention that I am sure that I came upon Charles "Stickman" while I was coming home last evening ─ he was at the intersection of 100th Avenue & 140th Street (Google Map). I wrote of this fellow in my July 3 post.

As you look at that Google Map, he may have just crossed 140th Street and was at the upper right corner of the intersection waiting to cross 100th Avenue towards where you can see a trail.

I had crossed 140th Street after exiting 100-A Avenue, and was advancing down 140th Street towards that same intersection, but would be turning right along 100th Avenue.

I had no wish to be seen and recognized; fortunately, the light changed and Charles was occupied with crossing the avenue ahead of a car wishing to come his way, so he never noticed me, and I soon had my back to him as I carried on with my two loads of groceries.

Something else I wish to mention is that yesterday I checked and discovered that my passport expires August 1 ─ before then, I must seek to renew it. I would do so for a term of 10 years, but the fee is $160. And of course, I will have to pay for a couple of professional passport photos.

Finally, I intend an early a.m. five-mile walk overnight, so I want to be rising at 1:45 a.m. to ready for it. Thus, I will be avoiding my brother, for I cannot get involved with him in watching any of our T.V. shows.

I will be back posting tomorrow if nothing catastrophic occurs to prevent it.
