Although it was just after 11 p.m. last night when I got to bed, it was no issue because I had no intention of rising any earlier than 4 a.m. overnight to ease into the later walk and grocery shopping excursion that I had planned.
I had of course watched some T.V. before bedtime, ever wary for sight of my younger brother arriving home ─ I had no intention of becoming entangled with him and obliged to sit up in the operation of our Android TV Box (he does not understand its operation).
So apart from a Women's MMA bout featuring two fighters who did not particularly interest me and now cannot recall, I also watched an episode of Chesapeake Shores ─ this time, season five's episode four ("Happy Trails").
I have just now read in that Wikipedia article the following:
In March 2014, it was announced that Metcalfe would be exiting the series. His character's storyline concluded early in the fifth season.[⁴]
First off, it was in March 2021 that the announcement was evidently made.
Second ─ and far more importantly to me ─ Jesse Metcalfe was the one thing that made the series difficult for me to stick with ─ I detested his "Trace" character.
And his weak, schmaltzy version of Country music ─ gag me!
So knowing now that the guy will no longer be making appearances is fabulous news.
Well, I did not mean to get that involved in talking about Chesapeake Shores, so I might as well make a small mention of the women's MMA match I had also watched.
Some research reveals that it was a March 9, 2022, match; and the video was just over 23 minutes on YouTube: Atomweights collide as Monique Adriane battles Paulina Granados.
The fight went the distance, but all three judges awarded the victory to Brazilian Monique Adriane over American Paulina Granados. I cannot argue differently.
Anyway, I got my time in bed overnight, but managed to squander too much of my readiness time. I had hoped to be on my way by possibly as early as 5:45 a.m. so as to have a leisurely four-or-so-mile walk before stopping for groceries at Save-On-Foods approximately a mile from home.
Well, I blew it ─ these early Summer mornings can be very annoying, for I hate getting out into the daytime. I did at least first have some exercises in the backyard tool shed, including six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups (because I would not be doing them in the public eye of daylight at the elementary school playground where I generally tackle them during my wee a.m. walks). Happily, I managed four repetitions in the first set, and two repetitions in each of the remaining five sets.
After dilly-dallying in readying, it was just about 6:20 a.m. by the time I left. As a result, I changed my route, for putting in four miles would cause me to arrive at the store later than I liked following its 7 a.m. opening.
So just how much distance did I manage? I cannot precisely say, but I would suggest that it was a tad over two miles ─ maybe even 2¼ miles. And then another mile to get home from the store.
And it was 8 a.m. by the time I was back home.
After putting away my purchases and dressing down, I was not too very much longer in returning to bed to await the sounds of my brother watching some T.V.
He was not to release the T.V. to me to put our Android TV Box into action until 11 a.m., so we did not complete watching anything worthy of mention. The video I do intend to talk something about was well over two hours long, so we had to forsake it while still not quite halfway through. I expect that we will finish watching it tomorrow morning, so I will hold my tongue until then.
My brother had some bed rest before leaving for the day to socialize, and I meantime had my first meal of the day, and had not yet sought my early afternoon nap before he left.
The nap did not improve me at all ─ I actually felt somewhat unwell. Even so, by 2:30 p.m I was out in the backyard sunning for over 80 minutes.
I then came back into the house, and began blogging ... and here we are.
I am considering tackling a latter evening walk. My brother's birthday is a week away, and we typically buy each other booze ─ his preference is Scotch. I may see if I think later that I can handle a five-mile round trip hike to a private liquor store that is open till 11 p.m. Should I go, I will buy myself a half dozen cold beers to help make the return walk more tolerable.
Meantime, I am going to have some further bed rest ─ maybe a nap. The added lure concerning that walk is that it would relieve me of having to have an early a.m. walk overnight for which I would be rising at 1:45 a.m. to ready for.
As long as I leave home well ahead of 9:30 p.m., I ought to have no trouble making it to the liquor store before it closes.
If all goes well, I will be reporting back here about it tomorrow.
